Afton had her 5-month celebration on January 9th!
Our little lady is seriously the cutest thing ever these days. She is such a
happy little soul and has completely changed our lives in such a good way.
Our little Afton Phoebe has changed so much in the last
month. We have had lots of fun happenings too. Here is a little glimpse of what
happened last month.
Quick Stats:
Weight: ~16 pounds with the leg rolls and double chin to prove it (so cute!)
Biggest Accomplishment: We have a rolling over baby!! I put Afton down on her blanket on her belly, looked away for two seconds, and when I turned back our baby girl was on her back and smiling like crazy. Since then, she has figured out the belly-to-back roll and a back-to-belly roll. This girl is growing up so fast!
Favorite Food: Sweet Potatoes
Favorite Toy: Her little critter that jiggles when you pull a string and her bath bug toys
5 months is gonna be awesome!
She is starting to pay attention to Bear.

First time trying rice cereal! She loved it! It was pretty messy the first time and Afton seemed to love that too. Every time she eats she gets better at it. It is so fun to be able to see her learn new things and get so excited about them.
Her first present was the cutest outfit and elephant from her second family - the Shepherd's watch her while we are at work. As you can see, the little lady was pretty excited about it.
Finally, Christmas arrived! It was a really quiet Christmas for us. Christmas Eve we went sledding, watched Elf, and ate lots of treats. Then, before baby girl went to bed, we read the Christmas story as a family. In the morning, we opened some presents from Santa and had a really relaxing day together. It was a little weird to not have a lot of family around, but it was actually really nice to have our little family celebrate Christmas for the first time with just us.

On Christmas Eve we went sledding for the first time with baby girl! She loved it. She went down the hill several times and then fell asleep in my arms and slept on a sled while we kept playing. Basically, she loved it!

Bear needs presents too. He loved his little doughnut and devoured it in about 2 minutes.
The best part of Christmas was SO MUCH SNOW! Our little lady did her first snow angel. She was thrilled, obviously.
6 months is coming soon - Afton's half birthday! Our little lady is growing up way too fast!
